client reviews   When I first met with Annette, I was in a transition, both personally and professionally. I had a tremendous amount of stress and anxiety as a result of the uncertainties and lack of clarity in my life. At the outset, I began to gain a deeper perspective of my life situation and, importantly, myself, through the process.  Annette has a unique ability to uncover all that is relevant in addressing those issues most critical to success. She successfully combines the profession of coaching with her gift of being able to offer keen insight, interpret and relate to each client as an individual.  Her goal-based approach helped me make measurable progress towards a more self aware and confident outcome. She is neither dogmatic nor rigid in her approach. She is willing to take risks and try new methodologies which serve the desired outcome.
Annette's structured approach, coupled with her ability to create intimacy and trust between client and coach has positively impacted me both professionally and personally. I achieved a strong sense of progress, gained a lot of clarity and perspective and have a better sense of how to continue to measure my results into the future.

Recently, a friend of mine told me that whenever she is with me she feels an overwhelming sense of tranquility. This amazed me because when I began working with Annette 18 months ago, I was anything but tranquil. Even though I had an excellent job as a senior manager and a full personal life with friends and a husband I loved, I was tense, unsure, and completely defined by my job and what I perceived that others thought of me. I do not remember the woman I was or the things she said and did, but I do remember how she felt – trapped. She did not have space to think; she could not make significant personal decisions; and, she could not stop the thoughts that raced through her mind telling her what she should have said or done in a myriad of situations.
I was eligible for retirement but could not make the decision. Every time I got close to the date I set for myself, I came up with a reason to extend my personal deadline by six months to a year. I told myself that I was staying to finish one more project or to get my retirement pay to an ideal amount. At the same time, I was getting sadder and more frustrated by the day. The stress I thought I had under control was tying my mind and my body in knots. I was using food and alcohol to dull the pain. A year ago, two months after I began the fascinating journey Annette designed for me, I confidently made the decision to retire and have never had a reason to look back. I realize that failing to do what I really wanted to do was causing my stress, not my job.
Life Coaching has enabled me to learn things about myself that I never could have discovered by myself no matter how many books I read or what my friends told me worked for them. With Annette to guide me, I defined the end-state I want to achieve and a 5-Year Achievement Plan that will get me there. I set objective measurable 6-month goals for blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, and body fat percentage to track my fitness progress; and, subjective measures for goals such as relationships and broadening my experience base. None of this would have made a difference without the exercises and Self Observations she gave me. I never could have foreseen that a Music Interpretation exercise would teach me to be comfortable with questions that have no answers; or, that representing an object in the foreground using the white space that is left after drawing all the objects in the background would enable me to see possibilities.
Today, I live in a wonderful, open world full of opportunities, challenges, and rewards, not the dark box I had constructed for myself. I have discovered my true essence. I am enjoying the ongoing process of finding out who I am instead of forcing myself to be who I thought I ought to be. Food and wine are no longer places to hide; they have positive roles in my “Good Life”. My husband and I have the connection that we did when we first met as very young people. The future can only be brighter!

Annette was my mentor and coach while I was in a Coaching Certification program. I can honestly say this was one of the most challenging periods of my life and I might not have made it were it not for the coaching and guidance from Annette. Whether you need help facing life's challenges, or desire to live up to your highest potential, I would highly recommend Annette as the person to help you. She is absolutely brilliant getting to the heart of the matter and helping you to focus on what really matters. She is a joy to work with and I know I am a better person for having known and worked with her.

I worked with Annette Segal as a personal coach for a period of four and a half months.  During that time, we moved through a series of written exercises, physical practices and meditative behaviors. These ultimately led me to a personal realization (I really want to go back to work, and I can accept the sacrifices that it will create).  I had been saying “I want a job” for three years, but had been unable to achieve that goal.  Now, three and a half months after completing my coaching, I have an exciting new job in an up and coming field (mobile music) with all the flexibility I was willing to give up and potential for large scale profits.
I believe the benefit of the processes and techniques Annette uses stem from the way both left and right brain are engaged so the individual can access and draw from more of their untapped personal potential.  More raw resources at the start - better developed finished product at the end. I hope Annette can help you in similar ways she helped me.
